James was born on September 18, 1938 in Brilliant, AL the son of Jesse L. Pridmore and Willene Wates Pridmore. He spent his early years in Brilliant and graduated from Brilliant High School.

He grew up and lived in the Eldridge area most of his life and was a 1975 graduate of Carbon Hill High School. He worked as was a truck driver and drove for several different companies over the years. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ.

Ms. Susan Annie Miles better known as “Sue” age 72 of Winfield passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Fayette Long Term Care in Fayette. Sue was born on April 2, 1948 in Marion County, AL a daughter of Leon B. Miles and Juanita Prescott Miles. She was a resident of the Rock City community most of her life. She was graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She previously worked at Carraway Hospital in Birmingham as a dietician.

She enjoyed being at home and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Foster and Janice Shirley, aunt, Sherry Barnes and her brother, Joshua Wayne Barnes. Mrs. Robbie Jones Benton age 93 of Hubbertville passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Fayette Long Term Care in Fayette. Robbie was born on May 28, 1927 in Fayette County, AL a daughter of Lewis Franklin Box and Bertha Ann Mills Box. She was a lifelong resident of the Hubbertville Community of Fayette County.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He worked as a coal miner retiring from Drummond Coal and also as a truck driver for Blue Star Cement Company. He loved to work in his garden and grow peppers and make pepper sauce. He set a record for the Tallest Jalapeno Pepper Plants this summer reaching a height of nine feet. Lettie is survived by her daughters, Myra Clement and her husband, Lee, Marcia Parr all of Tuscumbia and Alicia Parr of Olive Branch, MS, grandchildren, Nicholas Parr and his wife Kayla, Johnathan Parr, Anna Parr, Abby Parr, Savannah Davis and her husband, Chris and Caleb Clement and other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2 p.m.

He always enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Mrs. Waldrop is survived by her son, Brent Waldrop of Tuscaloosa, daughter, Patty Wilson of Olive Branch MS., grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael and Daniel Waldrop and Brenden, Savannah, and Nathan Wilson, sister Brenda White of Fayette, and a host of other family and friends. Despite living all over the world, he always considered Winfield home, and would visit whenever he could. The Cunninghams were a very close family, and he enjoyed spending his time with his mother, brothers, and sisters, while there. Solon was an avid sports fan and a University of Alabama supporter. He attended games every chance he had, be it college football in Tuscaloosa or a high school game for the Winfield Pirates.

Mr. Lemual Justin Harbin, age 32 of Winfield passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 in the Northwest Medical Center. Justin was born in Amory, MS, on July 25, 1990 to Lemual Eric Harbin and Maudie McGough Cagle. Justin was employed with the Moore’s 129 Shell Station and loved to spend his spare time hunting and fishing. There's still time to send flowers to Norma M. Firebaugh's service.
